Electrical / Controls Engineer (Test Equipment & Automation)

Location: Onsite

Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the U.S. now and in the future (no sponsorship available)

Pay Rate: $55/hr

Position Overview

This role is responsible for developing new manufacturing and test equipment—as well as the supporting software—used in the development and production of advanced medical devices. The engineer will independently or collaboratively design concepts, create specifications, and lead the build and validation of complex automated systems. This is a hands‑on engineering position requiring strong technical depth, leadership, and the ability to work across multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership & Execution

  • Lead or contribute to project teams to define clear specifications, evaluate technical feasibility, and provide accurate estimates for electrical and software design work.
  • Coordinate, track, and document project progress, including design decisions, cost estimates, and timelines.
  • Deliver project milestones on schedule while managing scope changes and ensuring alignment with requirements.

Design & Development

  • Create electrical and software designs using standard development tools and established departmental procedures.
  • Design electrical systems, specify components, and identify pneumatic and automated control requirements.
  • Lead teams of designers, engineers, and technicians through equipment design, assembly, integration, and debugging.

Testing, Validation & Compliance

  • Support FDA/QSR equipment requirements by contributing to specifications, qualification protocols, and documentation.
  • Prepare reports and documentation to communicate project status, results, and technical findings.
  • Provide training to ensure equipment and control systems are used effectively and safely.

Continuous Improvement & Collaboration

  • Champion best practices within the engineering function and contribute to cross‑functional process improvements.
  • Influence and help define departmental procedures through participation in engineering initiatives.
  • Collaborate closely with manufacturing, quality, and program teams to ensure equipment meets operational needs.

Quality Responsibilities

  • Build quality into all aspects of work by maintaining full compliance with applicable quality system requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with 2–4 years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree with 0–2 years of experience.
  • Hands‑on experience with BLE communication and familiarity with other RF emitters.
  • Advanced proficiency in Python.
  • Experience using Bitbucket or GitHub for version control.
  • System verification experience in a regulated environment.
