About the position
Electrical Automation Services is a leading provider of automation solutions for industrial and commercial clients in the West Chicago area. We specialize in designing, installing, and maintaining electrical control systems for a wide range of industries, including manufacturing, food and beverage, and energy. We are currently seeking an experienced Electrical Controls Specialist to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, programming, and troubleshooting electrical control systems for our clients. This is a full-time, permanent position based in our West Chicago office.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop electrical control systems for industrial and commercial clients
- Program PLCs, HMIs, and other control devices to meet client specifications
- Conduct on-site installations and commissioning of control systems
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to control systems
- Collaborate with project managers and other team members to ensure project timelines and budgets are met
- Provide technical support to clients and assist with system upgrades and modifications
- Keep up-to-date with industry developments and trends in electrical controls and automation
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in designing and programming electrical control systems
- Strong knowledge of PLC programming, HMI development, and industrial communication protocols
- Experience with Rockwell Automation, Siemens, or other major control system platforms
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and control drawings
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to travel to client sites as needed
