Electrical Designer - Building systems design

The Role

As an Electrical Designer / Engineer (Project Lead), you will lead small to mid-sized projects while contributing to the design and delivery of electrical building systems. You'll be responsible for coordinating project activities, supporting technical delivery, and mentoring junior team members-while continuing to build your own technical and leadership capabilities.

What You'll Be Doing

• Project Leadership & Delivery

• Lead small to mid-sized projects, managing scope, schedule, and deliverables

• Coordinate project activities and ensure timelines and milestones are met

• Identify and communicate scheduling or resourcing challenges early

• Support project planning, including budgets, timelines, and deliverables

• Design & Technical Execution

• Participate in the design and development of electrical systems

• Prepare and review drawings, specifications, and technical reports

• Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and design practices

• Contribute to calculations, system layouts, and equipment selection

• Review and coordinate work across multidisciplinary teams

• Client & Stakeholder Engagement

• Support client communication, including presenting designs and technical solutions

• Assist in preparing proposals and fee letters

• Build and maintain strong client relationships

• Team Leadership & Collaboration

• Assign, coordinate, and review work of junior team members

• Provide mentorship, guidance, and technical support

• Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment

What You Bring

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering

• 3-5 years of relevant experience in building services design

• Strong technical foundation in electrical systems design

• Experience with AutoCAD and Revit; Bluebeam and other engineering tools are an asset

• Knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and regulations

• Strong project coordination and organizational skills

• Excellent communication and presentation abilities

• A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with strong analytical skills

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work both independently and as part of a team
