Role: Electrical Lead Engineer
Location: Atlanta GA - Onsite
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead electrical engineering activities for data center construction projects
- Support design, installation, and commissioning of electrical systems
- Manage medium voltage (MV) systems, substations, transformers, and power distribution
- Oversee electrical load calculations (kW/MW) and capacity planning
- Drive system energization activities, including first power (electrical firing)
- Act as the on-site electrical lead, ensuring quality, safety, and schedule adherence
- Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and multiple trade partners
- Track installation progress and manage project timelines and milestones
- Identify risks (delays, equipment issues) and implement mitigation plans
- Support commissioning activities and ensure successful system handover
- Maintain documentation: schedules, reports, and progress tracking
- Participate in preconstruction planning and resolve scope conflicts
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders and project teams
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- Strong experience in data center or mission-critical projects
- Expertise in medium voltage systems, substations, transformers
- Hands-on experience in electrical power distribution systems
- Experience with commissioning, energization, and startup activities
- Strong understanding of construction site operations
- Experience managing multiple contractors and trade partners
- Ability to handle fast-paced, high-pressure project environments
- Willingness to work full-time onsite
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience working on large-scale data center projects
- Experience in commissioning environments
- Knowledge of electrical codes and safety standards
