We are seeking an enthusiastic Electrical Engineering Laboratory Technician to become a vital part of our Spectacles team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of our cutting-edge products!

Your Responsibilities:

  • Conduct functional testing on circuit board assemblies and electronic units in accordance with established procedures.
  • Debug, diagnose, and meticulously document electronic issues.
  • Effectively communicate findings and data to engineering teams and management.
  • Assist engineering teams in the development of prototypes.
  • Manage the procurement of materials and components necessary for engineering projects.
  • Perform rework tasks on electrical boards and undertake component soldering.
  • Maintain organized and accurate documentation using Google Workspace tools.
  • Ensure the lab environment is organized, clean, safe, and fully equipped for consumer electronics design and debugging activities.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Proficient in reading electrical schematics and utilizing product data sheets.
  • Ability to solder small discrete SMT components.
  • Capable of operating standard lab equipment such as oscilloscopes and digital multimeters independently.
  • Familiar with Linux command line tools and firmware troubleshooting.
  • Strong understanding of schematics.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of relevant lab experience.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (up to 15%).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as electrical engineering.
  • 5+ years of related lab experience.
  • Experience with overseas manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of low power and battery-operated designs.
  • Familiarity with PCB CAD tools such as OrCAD and Allegro.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and collaboration abilities.
  • Strong process development and documentation practices.

Compensation is determined based on skills, experience, and other factors. The salary range for this position is as follows: Zone A: $89,000-$133,000; Zone B: $85,000-$126,000; Zone C: $76,000-$113,000. This role is also eligible for equity in the form of RSUs.
