What you’ll do…

We are seeking a detail-oriented, driven, and resourceful Engineering Manager, Microgrid to lead Design Engineering efforts across multiple microgrid EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) projects. In this role, you will take ownership of the technical execution of microgrid projects from conception through delivery. This is a leadership role guiding technical design, ensuring engineering quality, and driving collaboration across cross-functional teams to deliver best-in-class, reliable microgrid solutions. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in project and electrical engineering, with a track record of successfully delivering complex energy infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead engineering efforts through the EPC phase, ensuring alignment with technical specifications and contractual commitments.
  • Manage and mentor a team of engineers, designers, and project professionals to deliver top-tier renewable energy solutions.
  • Oversee project design, feasibility studies, and risk assessments. Coordinating with clients, vendors, project managers, and cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and smooth project execution.
  • Overseeing the preparation and review of equipment specifications, ensuring compliance with project and regulatory standards.
  • Leading constructability reviews and ensuring comments are incorporated into final design packages.
  • Ensure all work adheres to safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with procurement to evaluate vendors, suppliers, and contractors.
  • Track project timelines, budgets, and key performance indicators to ensure efficient execution.
  • Offer technical oversight and troubleshooting support throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, regulatory agencies, and internal teams.

Required Qualification & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical or related engineering.
  • 12+ years of combined experience in Electrical and Project Engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical power distribution systems, electrical equipment, switchgear controls, grounding design, and a thorough understanding of National Electrical Code (NEC) requirements.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously while working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Highly self-motivated and organized, capable of maintaining project schedules and deliverables using project management tools and reporting systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and departments.
  • Strong people management skills.
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency with MS Office products & various pdf editing/mark up software.
  • Comfortable taking initiative and adaptable to taking on additional responsibilities as assigned by management.

Preferred Skills:

  • Have Power, Controls, and Utility systems experience
  • Have the ability to drive all technical aspects of a project from cradle-to-grave with minimal supervision.
