A nationally recognized intellectual property firm is seeking an Electrical Engineering Patent Attorney (4961) to join its Seattle-based practice. This role is ideal for a mid-level patent attorney who enjoys deep technical work, close client collaboration, and a hybrid schedule within a highly respected IP boutique. The position is based in Seattle, WA, with two in-office days per week, and relocation assistance is available.

This role offers the opportunity to work on sophisticated electrical engineering technologies—including semiconductor devices, chip architecture, and integrated circuits—while advising a diverse client base ranging from startups to multinational technology companies. You’ll collaborate closely with inventors and in-house teams, contributing directly to strategic IP decisions and portfolio development in a collegial, high-performing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and prosecute U.S. and foreign patent applications in electrical engineering–related technologies
  • Conduct patentability, freedom-to-operate, and landscape analyses
  • Respond to office actions and manage active patent prosecution matters
  • Collaborate with clients, inventors, and internal teams to align IP strategy with business goals
  • Maintain organized dockets and ensure high-quality, timely work product
  • Partner with attorneys, patent agents, and staff to deliver consistent client service

Qualifications:

  • 3–5 years of patent prosecution experience in a law firm or in-house setting
  • Background in electrical engineering or closely related discipline
  • USPTO registration required
  • Admission to practice and good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
  • Strong research, writing, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently while thriving in a collaborative team environment
  • Authorization to work in the U.S.

This is an opportunity to join a top-ranked IP firm known for technical excellence, strong mentorship, and a genuinely supportive culture. You’ll work on cutting-edge technologies with sophisticated clients while enjoying a balanced hybrid schedule, competitive compensation, and comprehensive benefits. The firm is consistently recognized as one of Washington’s Best Workplaces and is nationally ranked for both its IP practice and its commitment to diversity—making this an excellent long-term home for an attorney seeking meaningful, high-level work in a collaborative environment.

Compensation: $200,000 to $240,000 Annually, DOE + Bonus Eligibility
