Role Description

This for the opportunity of a full-time flexible role as an Electrical Professional Engineer. As an Electrical Professional Engineer, you can expect to work on a variety of projects including, condition assessment of existing systems, feasibility and master plan studies, detailed design and construction oversight, distribution systems, substations, generators, and energy systems. You will lead the production of complex electrical designs including calculations, reports, and construction document packages that will be utilized for bidding and construction. Expect to enhance your modeling skills and lead our modeling team as we work on complex power systems to evaluate load flow, short-circuit, electrical safety, and arc-flash hazards and develop relay protection strategies. This is a great opportunity to continue growing your electrical engineering skills while having direct input and guidance in growing and advancing the design team you will be helping to lead.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the investigation, planning and design of medium and low voltage electrical power distribution systems.
  • Analysis, problem solve, and document complex electrical challenges.
  • Develop electrical calculations, reports, and construction document packages that will be utilized for bidding and construction.
  • Showcase your modeling skills while developing complex power systems to evaluate load flow, short-circuit, and arc-flash hazards and develop relay protection strategies.
  • Support developing procurement specifications for various electrical equipment and materials to be installed on construction projects.
  • Ability to provide engineering design input to CAD Designers utilizing AutoCAD and/or Revit.
  • Willingness and ability to collaborate effectively with engineers and other team members.
  • Leading a design team and mentoring design staff, building your team around you.
  • Involved with Client engagement and developing/expanding Client relationships.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field is a plus.
  • 5 – 10 years of work experience in Electrical Engineering Design or related field
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification is required.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) License, or the desire and ability to acquire PE License within one year.
  • Knowledge of Electrical Design and Power Systems.
  • Experience in Power Distribution (Medium and Low Voltage)
  • Experience with modeling software including AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Experience with electrical modeling software including SKM Power Tools and ETAP.
  • Understanding of NEC and NESC codes
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
