Job Description:
e are seeking an experienced Electrical System Engineer with strong expertise in HVDC & HVAC substation engineering. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in EHV/HV AC substations (AIS & GIS), primary design, and EPC project execution. This role involves design, technical reviews, stakeholder coordination, and support across the full engineering lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare design inputs for substation primary engineering
- Perform technical reviews of design packages
- Coordinate with customers for design validation
- Develop technical specifications for electrical equipment
- Create SLDs, layouts, and electrical assembly drawings
- Perform sizing calculations for AC/DC station services
- Support vendor evaluation, approvals, and FAT activities
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
- Act as a single point of contact for customer & EPC contractor
- Support site queries, modifications, and commissioning activities
- Travel for site visits and client meetings across the USA
Technical Skills:
- EHV/HV substations (AIS & GIS) design & arrangement
- Brownfield retrofit substation design
- Equipment specification: Transformers, Circuit Breakers, CT/PT, Isolators, CCVT, etc.
- High voltage cable sizing & specification
- Auxiliary systems: DG, UPS, DC systems, transformers, control cables
- MV/LV auxiliary power distribution
- Substation layouts: SLD, earthing, lighting, control building, cable trench/tray
- Knowledge of IEC / IEEE / ANSI / NEMA standards
- Grid codes and substation configurations
- Experience in FAT & commissioning
