About the Company
We are partnering with a global, technology‑led investment firm that deploys systematic strategies across major markets. As part of continued growth in Asia, the firm is building out its electronic trading and market interaction capability in Hong Kong.
About the Role
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys sitting close to live markets, understands how automated strategies behave in real conditions, and can bridge the gap between trading intent, execution reality, and technology.
Responsibilities
- Act as a real‑time point of control for systematic trading activity, ensuring issues are identified, assessed, and resolved with appropriate urgency
- Contribute to how trading processes evolve as markets, regulations, and liquidity dynamics change across APAC
- Work alongside trading, research, and engineering teams to translate trading needs into practical solutions, and ensure changes are delivered effectively
- Develop insight into trading behaviour using data, diagnostics, and analysis, helping improve execution outcomes over time
- Maintain close coordination with internal and external partners to ensure smooth operation of trading workflows across regions and venues
- Support decision‑making during market events by providing context, analysis, and clear communication
Rather than focusing on a single process, the role is centered on market awareness, judgment, and continuous improvement within an automated trading environment.
Qualifications
Background in electronic trading, execution, or systematic trading support, with meaningful exposure to live markets.
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of how algorithmic strategies and execution tools behave under different market conditions
- Familiarity with APAC market structure, trading venues, and regulatory considerations
- Comfortable working with data and analytics, ideally with hands‑on experience in Python, SQL, or similar tools
- Calm, methodical approach to problem‑solving in fast‑moving or high‑pressure situations
- Able to communicate clearly with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders
- Self‑directed mindset, with the ability to own issues end‑to‑end and see improvements through to completion
