Electronic Trading Algo Trader

Your role

Can you work well under time pressure? Do you have strong communications skills? Are you naturally inquisitive and a decisive problem solver? Are you interested in a Front Office career, have knowledge of Capital markets and an interest in technology, market structure, and risk? We're looking for someone like that to:

• work within the Algo Trading team, responsible for the day-to-day risk management of the Global Markets Algo platform.
• work with Quants to build, analyse, maintain, and manage the reports necessary for monitoring and improving client algo performance.
• build their knowledge of the platform to become an expert in Algorithmic behaviour.
• develop a strong understanding about market microstructure and the exchange side products.
• develop and follow regulations, compliance policies, desk policies, limits, and guidelines.
• work with a variety of stakeholders, including clients and technology, to develop future product requirements and detailed design specifications.

Your team

You’ll be working in the Algo Trading Team in Hong Kong, as part of UBS’s Agency Electronic Trading business, delivering best-in-class execution services to a broad range of institutional clients.

Your expertise

• preferably 2 + years’ experience with exposure to a Front Office environment
• an organised, thorough, and methodical approach to problem solving
• comfortable using data to influence the decision-making process
• highly motivated, organised, and inquisitive.
• a cool head and calm presence in high pressure situations
• passionate about servicing clients, with strong interpersonal skills
• experience working collaboratively with other teams
• knowledge of/interest in Electronic Trading
• prior experience with coding skills will be a plus
• relevant Asian market knowledge. Thorough understanding of the China Abnormal Trading Rule will be a plus
