Our client, a prominent player in the energy market, is seeking an analytical and detail-oriented Energy Trading Analyst to join their dynamic team in Miami, Florida, US . This role involves the analysis of energy market data, development of trading strategies, and execution of trades across various energy commodities. You will be responsible for monitoring market trends, assessing risks, and identifying profitable trading opportunities. The ideal candidate will possess strong quantitative skills, a deep understanding of energy markets, and a proven ability to make informed decisions under pressure. Key Responsibilities:

Monitor and analyze real-time energy market data, including price movements, supply/demand fundamentals, and geopolitical events. Develop and refine quantitative models to forecast energy prices and market behavior. Identify and evaluate trading opportunities across various energy commodities (e.g., natural gas, electricity, crude oil). Execute trades in accordance with established trading strategies and risk management policies. Manage and optimize a portfolio of energy positions, actively hedging and mitigating risks. Prepare detailed market reports, performance analyses, and risk assessments for senior management. Collaborate with the risk management team to ensure compliance with trading limits and regulatory requirements. Stay informed about industry news, regulatory changes, and technological advancements impacting the energy trading landscape. Develop and maintain relationships with brokers, analysts, and other market participants. Contribute to the continuous improvement of trading systems and analytical tools.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field. A Master's degree or MBA is a plus. Minimum of 4 years of experience in energy trading, market analysis, or quantitative finance. Strong understanding of energy market dynamics, trading instruments, and risk management principles. Proficiency in statistical analysis, financial modeling, and data visualization tools (e.g., Excel, Python, R). Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure trading environment. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex market insights. Knowledge of energy trading platforms and regulatory frameworks is beneficial. Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in data analysis and execution.
