Responsibilities: Analyze energy market data, including prices, volumes, supply, and demand dynamics. Monitor and forecast market trends for electricity, natural gas, and other relevant commodities. Develop and refine quantitative models for market analysis, forecasting, and risk management. Identify and evaluate trading opportunities based on market intelligence and analytical insights. Prepare reports and presentations on market conditions, trading performance, and strategic recommendations. Collaborate with traders and schedulers to execute trading strategies and manage positions. Assess and manage risks associated with energy trading activities. Stay informed about regulatory changes, geopolitical events, and weather patterns impacting energy markets. Support the development and implementation of new trading tools and methodologies. Ensure accurate data management and reporting for trading operations. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field. Master's degree is a plus. 3+ years of experience in energy market analysis, trading, or a related analytical role. Strong understanding of wholesale electricity and natural gas markets. Proficiency in data analysis and modeling tools (e.g., Excel, Python, R, SQL). Excellent quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable trading insights. Strong communication and presentation skills. Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment. Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy.
