AT Automation & Change Management Engineer
As an AT Automation & Change Management Engineer, you will play a critical role in enabling, deploying, and sustaining factory automation solutions across Micron’s global Assembly & Test (AT) manufacturing network.
You will act as a system, process, and automation Subject Matter Expert (SME), responsible for translating manufacturing requirements into scalable automation and IT solutions while ensuring reliability, standardization, and governance across sites.
This role is a key contributor to the Micron Assembly & Test Automation Program, supporting both new automation initiatives (build & deploy) and long-term sustainment (run & improve) through strong technical leadership and cross-functional collaboration..
Key Responsibilities
- Integrates AI-assisted tools and insights into daily work to improve efficiency, quality, or effectiveness, exercising sound judgment and complying with organizational standards and legal requirements.
- Contributes to a culture of continuous improvement by identifying, testing, and sharing AI-enabled enhancements within one’s scope of work.
- Define and translate process, equipment, and automation requirements in partnership with Manufacturing, Process, Equipment, and IT teams.
- Develop and review automation system requirements, including tool automation, AMHS, stockers, and ASRS interfaces.
- Support system change management, including UAT, issue resolution, and production deployment.
- Establish and maintain automation and integration standards for tools, layouts, WIP carriers (FOUPs, cassettes, magazines, JEDEC trays, PCB racks), and safety compliance.
- Lead or support AMHS and automation integration, acting as a key interface to solution providers.
- Collaborate with vendors to align technology roadmaps and drive innovation that improves cycle time, quality, and productivity.
- Track automation performance metrics, ROI and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Manage individual work effectively to support team projects and deliverables.
- Promote a culture of quality awareness, including risk management, problem solving, and data-driven decision-making.
- Identify and respond appropriately to reduce systemic risks and prevent potential issues.
- Initiate and participate in worldwide/peer collaboration to improve efficiency and ensure standards/BKM adherence.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical/Electronic/Data Science) or Engineering-related field.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- High level of self-motivation.
- Good teamwork and multitasking capabilities.
- Ability to troubleshoot problems and address root causes.
- Team-oriented mindset with a strong focus on effective team dynamics.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of semiconductor assembly/test manufacturing processes is an advantage.
