Our Opportunity

We are currently seeking an

Engineer

for our

Mechanical Engineering

Practice in

Hong Kong, China

. In this role, you will be expected to be a highly qualified mechanical engineer who understands basic electronics as they relate to mechanical instrumentation and consumer and industrial products.

You will be responsible for

• Designing, building, and executing customized mechanical, electrical, and environmental tests to support product development and failure analysis

• Conducting experimental testing and data acquisition, field inspections, and engineering analysis

• Combining scientific principles with creative problem solving to solve a wide variety of technical problems at the interface between the mechanical, electrical, and materials disciplines

• Interacting with clients, managers, peer engineers, laboratory personnel, and non-technical staff

You Will Have The Following Skills And Qualifications

• Ph.D. or equivalent advanced degree in a relevant field of Mechanical Engineering, such as Machine Design, Applied Mechanics, Mechatronics, or Mechanics of Materials

• Knowledge or relevant hands-on experience in consumer or industrial electronics products, such as experience with mechanical, electrical, or thermal tests (specific experience with safety and reliability tests preferred)

• Knowledge of materials characterization techniques (e.g., metallography, SEM, CT scanning)

• Familiar with the commonly used metal and non-metal materials in the industry.

• Familiarity with the design and construction of mechanical testing fixtures and independent capability to design a customized testing fixture and realize it at a minimal cost.

• Familiarity with stress and force sensing technology (e.g., strain gauges, load cells, and displacement sensors)

• Understanding of fundamental electrical principles and technologies, including mechatronics systems, electrical motor driving technology, AC-DC power conversion, power adapters, and USB-PD configurations.

• Experience with electrical fault isolation and circuit analysis is a value-add.

• Demonstrated ability to execute thorough and reliable experimental research methods

• Demonstrated ability to analyze experimental data and distill relevant conclusions

• Excellent verbal and written communications skills in English and Mandarin Chinese

• Ability to work within project teams with a strong desire to contribute and exercise initiative

• Potential for technical and project management and team leadership

• Ability to convey technical information to individuals in engineering, business, legal and related industries
