Position: Engineering Director - Electrical and Hardware

Key Responsibilities
- Direct engineering teams throughout the embedded systems development lifecycle.
- Implement performance measurement systems to enhance team effectiveness.
- Engage with customers regarding technical requirements, project proposals, and program management.
- Oversee hardware design projects, focusing on computing platforms and power systems.
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to deliver complex defense products.
- Build and maintain relationships with prime contractors while managing customer programs.
- Ensure adherence to military standards and development processes.
- Provide mentorship and technical leadership to the engineering staff.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
- Extensive experience in embedded design before transitioning into management roles.
- Proven people management skills, including performance reviews, hiring, and team development.
- Expertise in hardware design, specifically:
- High-end computing platforms and FPGA development.
- Standards-compliant embedded products.
- Power supply designs for embedded systems.
- Familiarity with software related to BIOS, real-time operating systems, and driver development.
- Basic mechanical understanding of embedded system packaging and thermal design.
- Experience with defense/aerospace projects working with prime contractors.
- Knowledge of military standards and development processes.
- Customer-facing experience in technical program management and proposals.
- U.S. citizenship required.
This position requires on-site work in Madison, Wisconsin, and relocation assistance is provided.
