Applications Engineering Manager

If you’ve spent time leading Applications Engineers and supporting conveyor or material handling proposals alongside Sales, this will feel like a natural next step.

This role sits at the front end of real-world automation projects, where engineering judgment and clear communication directly shape outcomes.

You’ll lead the Applications Engineering function, working closely with Sales and Operations to develop solutions that are technically sound, practical to execute, and aligned with customer needs.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the Applications Engineering team
  • Guide system layouts, design direction, and equipment selection
  • Partner with Sales to develop concepts, proposals, and pricing approaches
  • Participate in customer discussions as a technical resource when needed
  • Ensure designs are accurate, practical, and aligned with cost and safety standards
  • Support clean handoffs to Project Management and Operations

Strengthen tools, workflows, and engineering consistency over time

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in conveyors, material handling, or automation systems
  • Background in an integrator or distributor environment
  • Proven ability to lead or mentor engineers
  • Strong understanding of system layouts, equipment selection, and application sizing
  • Comfortable working in a sales-driven, customer-focused environment

Clear communicator across both technical and non-technical teams

Qualifications

  • Engineering degree or equivalent hands-on experience
  • 7+ years in applications, systems, or design engineering
  • 2+ years in a leadership or mentoring capacity

CAD experience (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar)
