ABOUT MARIANA MINERALS

Mariana Minerals is a software-first, vertically integrated minerals company on a mission to supply the critical minerals powering modern energy, AI, and defense technologies. We’re reimagining the minerals supply chain by combining deep industry expertise with advanced software, automation, and data-driven decision-making.

THE ROLE

The Engineering Technician plays a critical technical role in bridging field operations with process engineering. In addition to equipment operation, this position serves as a key resource for interpreting engineering drawings, supporting equipment selection, and maintaining digital plant records. The ideal candidate combines handson mechanical aptitude with the ability to navigate technical documentation and CAD software to support both frontend material preparation processes and downstream chemical processing operations within the recycling facility.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Operate plant equipment including shredders, separators, conveyors, screens, and bagging systems.
  • Monitor material flow and equipment performance; adjust settings to meet quality and recovery targets.
  • Perform routine sampling, testing, and quality checks to support process and metallurgical control.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and processcontrol issues and support planned maintenance.
  • Record key operational data such as tonnage, downtime, system changes, and recovery metrics.
  • Maintain clean, safe work areas and follow all MSHA/OSHA, lockout/tagout, and hazardcommunication procedures.
  • Participate in safety meetings and support hazard reporting and continuousimprovement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with supervisors, engineers, and maintenance teams; communicate equipment or process issues clearly.
  • Support engineering projects with data collection, testing, and implementation of recommendations.
  • Provide accurate updates during shift handovers to ensure consistent plant performance.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2-5 years' experience in industrial, mining, processing, or plant operations preferred.
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and proficiency in the safe operation of forklifts and other industrial materialhandling equipment.
  • Basic understanding of process control systems, sensors, and instrumentation.
  • Ability to read gauges, interpret data, and follow technical procedures.
  • Proficiency with basic computer tools including Excel, email, and production reporting systems.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Problem Solving: Demonstrated ability to "field-verify" engineering designs against physical plant constraints.
  • Drafting/Design: Proficiency in reading technical blueprints and industrial schematics is required. * Software Literacy: Basic to intermediate experience with CAD software (AutoCAD or similar) and high proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel/Teams).
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a valid driver’s license.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to walk long distances over rough, uneven terrain and climb ladders and structures.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions, including extreme temperatures.
  • Must wear and utilize all required PPE, including but not limited to:
  • Hard hat
  • Steel-toed footwear
  • Safety glasses
  • Hi-visibility safety vest
  • Hearing protection
  • Respirator (as needed)
  • Protective clothing/gloves
  • Must be able to work in environments that may include exposure to fumes, dust, diesel, solvents, sulphuric acid, and other hazardous materials.
