As part of our Commissioning practice within the Advisory Solutions group, you'll work alongside architects and engineers delivering specialized services that empower our clients and projects. In the role of Commissioning & Energy Specialist, you will be actively involved in both onsite and office tasks to support various Commissioning and Energy initiatives.

You will have the chance to lead and execute all commissioning activities, including testing (QA/QC, Functional Performance) and initiating systems and equipment, ensuring a safe environment that meets design specifications and exceeds stakeholder expectations. Your engagement will cover projects such as new constructions, renovations, existing building commissioning, and asset management initiatives.

Your responsibilities will include direct collaboration with Jacobs clients, project stakeholders, and contractors to ensure optimal outcomes with a focus on operational efficiency. Additionally, you will engage in energy projects encompassing audits, efficiency studies, and renewable energy development aimed at enhancing client performance.

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in commissioning, design, or construction management with an emphasis on mechanical, electrical, plumbing, or building envelope systems.
  • Working knowledge of building codes.
  • US Citizenship is required.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%, which may include multi-week field assignments and occasional long-term assignments.

Ideally, you will also possess:

  • Familiarity with mechanical, electrical, or building envelope systems.
  • Understanding of the construction process.
  • Experience with mission-critical/data center construction and/or operation.
  • Industry-recognized commissioning certification.
  • Professional Engineer licensure or Engineer-In-Training certification.
  • Industry-recognized energy management certification.
  • Current or past security clearance.
  • LEED or other sustainability certification.
