Job Description

About Rippling

Rippling gives businesses one place to run HR, IT, and Finance. It brings together all of the workforce systems that are normally scattered across a company, like payroll, expenses, benefits, and computers. For the first time ever, you can manage and automate every part of the employee lifecycle in a single system.

Take onboarding, for example. With Rippling, you can hire a new employee anywhere in the world and set up their payroll, corporate card, computer, benefits, and even third-party apps like Slack and Microsoft 365—all within 90 seconds.

Based in San Francisco, CA, Rippling has raised $1.4B+ from the world’s top investors—including Kleiner Perkins, Founders Fund, Sequoia, Greenoaks, and Bedrock—and was named one of America's best startup employers by Forbes.

We prioritize candidate safety. Please be aware that all official communication will only be sent from @Rippling.com addresses.

About The Role

Rippling is a leading Employer of Record (EOR) provider, enabling businesses to hire globally while ensuring compliance with local labor laws and regulations. As part of their compensation strategy, some EOR customers choose to grant equity to EOR employees, which introduces complex, country-specific payroll, tax, and reporting requirements that Rippling helps support through its EOR Equity Services.

The Equity Specialist will join Rippling’s growing Global EOR Equity Services team, reporting to the Global EOR Equity Program Manager. This is a foundational role on a small, specialized team responsible for supporting equity-related payroll and compliance operations for EOR customers and employees across multiple countries.

This role is strongly filings-oriented and operationally focused. Unlike traditional equity administration roles, this position does not manage equity plans, cap tables, or grant documentation. Instead, it owns equity-related compliance filings and statutory reporting obligations for EOR employees, including managing filing schedules, collecting and validating required information, and coordinating submissions. The role operates in the EOR context, where Rippling is the legal employer and equity is granted and administered by a third-party issuing company (the EOR customer). In addition to filings ownership, the role supports equity-related payroll workflows and responds to payroll-related questions, with the expectation that payroll-specific processes and systems can be learned on the job. The role works closely with Global Payroll, Tax Operations, Legal, and EOR Operations teams, as well as external advisors, to ensure accurate filings, aligned payroll reporting, and timely compliance execution, while helping to build scalable, well-documented processes as EOR Equity Services continues to grow.

What You Will Do

  • Own end-to-end equity-related compliance filings for EOR employees across multiple jurisdictions, including maintaining filing calendars, planning ahead for deadlines, collecting and validating required information, coordinating submissions, and completing post-filing review and follow-up.
  • Manage country-specific equity filing schedules (for example, UK ERS returns, Ireland RSS1 filings, and similar obligations), ensuring filing requirements are identified early, data is collected in advance, and submissions are completed accurately and on time.
  • Proactively collect required equity and payroll-related data from customers, internal teams, and third-party providers; follow up persistently to resolve gaps, inconsistencies, or missing information prior to filing deadlines.
  • Coordinate with third-party advisors and local providers to prepare and submit equity filings, reviewing draft filings for accuracy and completeness before submission, with a long-term goal of transitioning filings in-house where feasible.
  • Support equity-related payroll workflows for EOR employees, including alignment between payroll reporting and filing data, resolution of payroll-related questions connected to filings, and assistance with payroll corrections when needed.
  • Respond to customer and internal questions related to equity filings, payroll reporting, documentation requirements, and compliance timelines, escalating complex or non-standard scenarios as appropriate.
  • Partner with Global Payroll and Tax Operations teams to ensure consistency between payroll reporting, tax withholding, and equity-related statutory filings.
  • Track filing confirmations, acknowledgements, amendments, and follow-up inquiries from tax authorities, supporting corrections or resubmissions as required.
  • Identify potential compliance risks related to equity filings or payroll reporting and escalate issues to appropriate internal stakeholders.

What You Will Have

  • 3+ years of experience in equity compensation administration, payroll operations, tax compliance, or a related role.
  • Strong understanding of common equity types (such as NSOs and RSUs) and how taxable events flow through payroll, imp
