Our Department of Cardiovascular Medicine seeks an exceptional research scientist to establish a cutting‑edge program addressing fundamental challenges in cardiovascular disease through innovative approaches in regenerative medicine, cardio‑oncology, or related translational research areas.
This position directly supports Mayo Clinic's transformational vision to shift healthcare from reactive treatment to predictive prevention, aligning with:

Revolutionizing transplant discovery and developing alternatives to cadaveric transplant through pioneering science in cellular engineering, advanced cell therapy products, and bioartificial organ systems.

Developing platform products that enable prediction and prevention of diseases through biological signatures, real‑time sensing technologies, and algorithmic approaches.

Our department has established significant research infrastructure in cardiac regeneration, with active programs focusing on cell‑based therapy for ischemic heart disease, enhancement of hiPSC‑derived cardiomyocyte regenerative potency, neonatal heart regeneration and molecular pathways regulating cardiomyocyte proliferation, and nanoparticle‑based, cell‑type specific drug delivery systems. Our diverse extramural and intramural funding portfolio, inclusive of four active NIH R01 grants totaling over $8 million, demonstrates significant investigator excellence and national competitiveness.
We seek an innovative investigator who will establish a complementary and symbiotic research program in cardiac regeneration, cardio‑oncology, or related translational cardiovascular science areas that align with our department's strategic vision and existing research infrastructure.
