Field Service Engineer
The Field Service Engineer is responsible for installing, commissioning, troubleshooting, repairing,
and maintaining large industrial equipment and automated systems at customer sites.
This role is ideal for someone who excels in electrical + mechanical diagnostics and enjoys hands-on work in diverse industries.
Salary: $80,000–$95,000 + Overtime

Location Requirement: Must be based in the Los Angeles, CA area– 100% Remote | 80% Travel
Travel: 80% domestic + occasional international

Key Responsibilities
- Equipment Installation & Commissioning
- Install, calibrate, test, and commission new or modified machinery at customer locations.
- Ensure systems meet all functional and safety specifications.
- Troubleshooting & Technical Support
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and automation system issues.
- Utilize DVMs, oscilloscopes, and other test instruments for detailed troubleshooting.
- Interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical documentation.
- Determine root causes and recommend repair, replacement, or corrective action.
- Customer Training & Service
- Provide on-site technical assistance to customers and internal teams.
- Conduct training sessions on equipment operation and maintenance.
- Maintain strong communication and professionalism with customers.
- Documentation & Reporting
- Complete detailed service reports, maintenance logs, and technical correspondence.
- Communicate findings to engineering, manufacturing, and customer service teams.
- Continuous Improvement
- Provide field feedback to support product performance, reliability, and design improvements.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in a mechanical or technical discipline (Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering preferred).
- 3+ years of field service, maintenance, industrial equipment, or automation experience.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with:
- Industrial machinery
- Electrical systems
- Control boxes / control systems
- PLC-based equipment
- Proficiency using:
- DVM
- Oscilloscope
- Electrical & mechanical test instruments
- Ability to read & interpret:
- Technical drawings
- Schematics
- Installation & maintenance manuals
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Solid computer proficiency; SAP experience preferred.
- Must be able and willing to travel up to 80%.

- Knowledge of machine design or industrial parts design.
- Experience commissioning large automated systems.

The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $95000.00/yr.
