Accountant / Finance Analyst – Banking / Capital Markets

We are seeking an experienced Accountant / Finance Analyst to support a change initiative focused on upfront financial analysis and process enhancement within a banking environment. This role will work closely with Product Control, Regional Finance, and key stakeholders to analyze financial structures, interpret balance sheets, and provide regional P&L insight across underlying business lines.

The successful candidate will be hands-on, highly analytical, and able to communicate effectively with finance and business stakeholders. This position requires someone who understands how financial products flow through accounting structures, including trial balances, revenue attribution, and entity-level reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform upfront analysis to support process changes and business initiatives
• Interpret balance sheets, trial balances, and financial reporting outputs
• Analyze regional P&L performance, revenue transfers, and entity structures
• Partner with Product Control, Finance, and business stakeholders on reporting and analysis
• Support understanding of how products align to trading strategies and accounting treatment
• Provide insights into business line performance across multiple regions
• Assist with data analysis, reporting improvements, and process optimization

Must-Have Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in banking or financial services
• Capital Markets product knowledge
• Strong understanding of balance sheets, trial balances, and financial statements
• Experience with regional / legal entity P&L analysis
• Knowledge of banking products and their accounting/reporting impacts
• Strong analytical and stakeholder management skills
• University degree required

Nice to Have

• Product Control or Product Accounting experience
• Understanding of regional tax considerations
• VBA / Macros / Python scripting skills
• CFA or CPA designation
