Job Description

The Finance Analyst supports financial planning, reporting, and statutory compliance activities across Asia Surfactant business. The role ensures timely and accurate preparation of financial information and supports month‑end and year‑end close processes in compliance with corporate policies, accounting standards, and local regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

A. Financial Planning and Analysis

  • Lead Asia Pacific Region financial planning activities to support regional and corporate management review, including:
  • Prepares and consolidate monthly forecasts and quarterly profit projections
  • Lead the preparation of the annual budgeting process including timeline communication and action items
  • Partner closely with Business Team to work on forecast, profit projection and budget
  • Analyse financial performance against budget and prior periods, identify key drivers, and recommend actions to improve business outcomes.

B. Financial Closing & Reporting

  • Support accounting month‑end and year‑end closing activities
  • Prepare intercompany cross‑charge schedules and supporting documentation
  • Prepare and post journal entries in SAP
  • Execute assigned SAP financial closing tasks and ensure timely completion
  • Prepare closing schedules and reports for review prior to submission to Corporate Finance
  • Prepare monthly Balance Sheet accounts reconciliation

C. Audit & Statutory Compliance

  • Support annual statutory and internal audits
  • Prepare audit schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation
  • Liaise with auditor and coordinate responses to audit queries with internal stakeholders
  • Prepare local GAAP financial statements and draft audited financial statements

D. Fixed Assets & Capital Expenditure

  • Review monthly open AFE report and fixed assets register
  • Submit quarterly AFE report to Corporate
  • Maintain and update lease and embedded lease register

E. Corporate income tax

  • Prepare annual corporate income and deferred tax provisions
  • Support annual corporate income tax computation and filing processes
  • Prepare schedules and assist in responding to tax consultants or agent queries

F. Others

  • Support Corporate initiatives by preparing and coordinating required financial documentation with Corporate Secretary and Corporate Legal team
  • Support ad-hoc request related to finance and accounting

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline
  • Professional accounting or finance certification (e.g. ACCA, CPA, CA, CFA) is an advantage but not mandatory

Experience

  • 2–5 years of relevant experience in financial planning & analysis, accounting and financial reporting
  • Exposure to FP&A, month‑end financial close, audit support, and financial reporting
  • Experience working in a regional or multinational organization is preferred

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong financial analytical skills with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Good foundation in accounting fundamentals and financial principles
  • Proficient in SAP for financial processing, reporting, and analysis
  • High level of accuracy with strong attention to detail and documentation discipline
  • Proven ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast‑paced month‑end close environment
  • Effective communication and coordination skills, able to work collaboratively with regional and corporate stakeholders
