Financial Accounting Analyst (Oil & Gas)

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Financial Reporting Analyst to join our client in their Financial Reporting team. This function plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and transparency of financial performance within a fast-paced trading environment.

Operating in a complex setting with dynamic market conditions and stringent compliance requirements, you will deliver high-quality financial reporting, support strategic decision-making, and uphold strong financial governance standards.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams including Finance, Trading, Risk, and Operations to ensure timely and accurate financial outcomes aligned with group reporting standards.

Key Requirements:

• Lead month-end closing activities (P&L review, inventory, derivatives, intercompany, AR/AP)
• Perform variance analysis on financial results
• Handle revenue recognition (IFRS 15) and lease accounting (IFRS 16)
• Monitor hedging activities and ensure IFRS 9 compliance
• Reconcile financials with Risk teams and resolve discrepancies
• Support regulatory reporting and group submissions
• Drive process improvements, automation, and stronger controls
• Coordinate audits and manage audit requirements

Requirements:

• Degree in Accounting/Finance or related field
• Strong IFRS knowledge (9, 15, 16)
• Experience in financial reporting (background in trading / commodities is a plus)
• Understanding of derivatives and hedging
• Analytical, detail-oriented, and able to work under pressure
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
