Financial Analyst – 6 Month Contract

We are currently recruiting for a Financial Analyst opportunity with a confidential established organization. This is an initial 6-month contract with strong potential for extension.

This is a great opportunity for a finance professional who enjoys budgeting, financial planning, business partnering, systems work, and process improvement. The role offers a hybrid work model, with 4 days per week in office, and provides strong mentorship and development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the preparation of financial statement budgeting to support the annual financial plan.
  • Support the development, execution, and approval of the annual budgeting process.
  • Partner with budget managers across the organization, providing guidance, technical support, and training.
  • Build strong internal relationships and support transparency around budgeting and planning.
  • Stay current on accounting principles and corporate planning policies.
  • Support planning and reporting systems, including Hyperion Planning, Essbase, Financial Reporting Studio, and Oracle Project Accounting.
  • Assist with system testing, patching, troubleshooting, and process improvements.
  • Improve finance systems and applications from both a front-end user and back-end administrative perspective.
  • Track capital and operating expenses for periodic reporting and project-related analysis.
  • Provide financial analysis, cost-benefit analysis, and recommendations for process improvement.
  • Support post-implementation analysis and reporting for executive review.
  • Prepare ad hoc financial reporting and analysis as required.

Qualifications:

  • CPA, CPA in progress, ACCA, CA, CMA, or similar designation preferred.
  • Minimum 2+ years of relevant finance, accounting, budgeting, or FP&A experience.
  • Strong experience with financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with Hyperion Planning, Essbase, and Financial Reporting Studio is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Oracle Project Accounting or Oracle ERP is an asset.
  • VBA, SQL, scripting, or technical troubleshooting skills would be a strong asset.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work with budget managers and business stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
