Financial Analyst I (Contractor)

We are looking for a detail-oriented Financial Analyst I (Contractor) to support program accounting activities in Houston, Texas. This Long-term Contract position focuses on payment preparation, accrual management, reconciliations, and financial reporting for network-related transactions. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical ability, confidence working with large data sets, and the judgment to manage priorities independently while contributing to accurate month-end and year-end results.Responsibilities:• Produce monthly network payment calculations and accrual schedules, ensuring financial records are complete and properly supported.• Reconcile invoices, payments, and accrual balances while investigating discrepancies and coordinating issue resolution with relevant stakeholders.• Examine financial and operational data to identify trends, improve workflows, and highlight opportunities for efficiency and cost control.• Use database and query tools to organize, review, and interpret large volumes of transactional information for reporting and analysis.• Assist with budgets, forecasts, and financial models by gathering data, validating assumptions, and preparing supporting analysis.• Contribute to weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting packages that support financial close activities and accurate statement presentation.• Prepare and review journal entries during month-end and year-end close, maintaining compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.• Research variances against budget and forecast expectations, then summarize findings and communicate business drivers clearly.• Support audit-related requests by analyzing network submissions, tracking findings, and helping create more efficient review processes.• Complete ad hoc financial projects and analytical assignments as needed, including special reporting and process standardization initiatives.
