Job Description

Application close date: Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis until the requisition is closed. At Blue Origin, we envision millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth. We’re working to develop reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems within a culture of safety, collaboration, and inclusion. Join our team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight!  This role is part of Blue Origin corporate functions, providing centralized support across Blue Origin business unit teams, functions, and locations. As part of a hardworking team of specialists, technicians, engineers, and program managers, you will join our finance organization to improve the quality, speed, and consistency of insights provided to business leadership and contribute to the programmatic decisions that directly impact the history of space exploration. We are seeking an analytical, creative, and forward-thinking Financial Reporting Analyst II who is passionate about building solutions. You will often start with ambiguous questions, imperfect data, and multiple stakeholders, and you will create structure, a point of view, and repeatable, auditable solutions. This role combines strong finance and accounting fundamentals with modern analytics, automation, and emerging AI/LLM-enabled workflows (with appropriate controls and human review). Passion for our mission and vision is required! Ability to work full-time on-site is required, and relocation assistance will be provided. Responsibilities: Financial Analysis & Reporting: Collaborate cross-functionally to gather, document, and communicate business requirements to tackle ambiguous and complex financial issues. Generate and maintain accurate, accounting-focused financial reporting (e.g., close dashboards, variance/flux reporting, account trend analysis) that ties to the GL and agreed sources of truth. Design, develop, and maintain user-friendly financial dashboards and reports to support key business decisions. Process Improvement & Automation: Identify recurring/manual accounting and close workflows (Journal Entries, reconciliations, roll-forwards, flux analysis) and redesign them for speed, quality, and auditability. Build and implement automation using Excel/SQL and Python (where appropriate) and approved tooling to reduce cycle time and error rates (e.g., automated tie-outs, exception reporting, standardized JE support packages). Develop controlled AI/LLM-enabled workflows to accelerate accounting and close deliverables (e.g., drafting flux explanations, summarizing exceptions), ensuring documented controls, traceability, and human-in-the-loop review. Mine and reconcile data across systems, improving data quality through root-cause analysis and upstream fixes with process owners. Build and maintain repeatable, versioned analysis assets (queries, datasets, templates/models) with documentation and clear data lineage. System & Data Integration: Support financial system transitions (e.g., Costpoint to D365) by defining reporting requirements, validating/tie-out outputs, and improving post-migration close/reporting workflows. Strategic Collaboration: Serve as a change agent with strong credibility and influence, collaborating with customer partners and domain specialists. Clearly communicate results, assumptions, and controls to both finance and non-finance stakeholders. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related analytical field Minimum 2 years demonstrating performance in a relevant role Moderate proficiency in data extraction using SQL programming Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint Ability to earn trust and maintain positive, professional relationships with key business partners and the broader finance team Experience with extracting data from qualitative and quantitative data sources to support business planning and performance measurement Intellectual curiosity in the products, underlying business processes and impact of financial decisions within the Honeybee Robotics business unit Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment Experience with Costpoint, Databricks, D365, or other ERP and BI tools Experience with supporting government contracts Compensation Range for: CO applicants is $77,961.00 - $109,145.40 WA applicants is $85,049.00 - $119,067.90 Other site ranges may differ Culture Statement Don’t meet all desired requirements?
