Staff Financial Analyst/Senior Financial Analyst

This role can be based in Tucson, AZ or Northridge, CA. The role is 100% on-site, and is classified as a full-time, exempt, non-supervisory position. The level of the role (Staff Financial Analyst v. Senior Financial Analyst) will be determined based on the selected candidate's experience and qualifications.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary financial analyst supporting the Space Systems sector, partnering with Program Managers to monitor financial performance, funding, and contract expenditures.
- Track program budgets and perform variance analysis, forecasting, and financial reporting for government contracts
- Analyze customer contracts to determine cost, funding, and profit data.
- Support the semi-annual budgeting/EAC process.
- Support financial planning and analysis activities across corporate and functional departments.
- Assist with financial evaluation of operational initiatives and organizational spending plans.
- Prepare financial plans, generate regular and special-purpose reports, and maintain historical financial records.
- Develop and maintain financial models, dashboards, and analytical tools that improve visibility into program and operational performance.
- Establish cost projections, personnel-specific labor forecasts, and analyze financial trends.
- Review weekly timesheet charges to ensure timely and accurate completion and proper charging practices.
- Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and decision-support to Sector, Finance, & functional department leadership as needed.

Experiences and Background We Look For (Required Skills):
- BA/BS degree and 4 + years' experience or MA/MBA and 2 + years' experience
- Experience supporting government contracts or defense programs.
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
- Expert proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Powerpoint)
- Familiarity with indirect cost structures and cost pools within a government contracting organization.
- Ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop, evaluate and implement solutions
Nice to Have (Preferred Skills):
- Prior experience in a Defense contracting organization with TM1, DELTEK CostPoint software knowledge
- Familiarity with SBIR/STTR contracts
- Experience with Earned Value Management System (EVMS)
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret Security Clearance
- Experience using data analysis and visualization tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, etc
- MBA, CMA
The salary range for this role depends on the candidate's level of experience:
- Staff Financial Analyst - $90,000 - $115,000(BA/BS + 4 years of relevant experience)
- Senior Financial Analyst - $115,000 - 135,000(BA/BS + 6 years of relevant experience)
