Financial Reporting Associate

A leading Boston-based alternative investment firm is seeking a Financial Reporting Associate to join its growing finance team. The Financial Reporting Associate will play a key role in supporting the firm’s financial reporting, fund accounting, and regulatory reporting processes. This individual will work closely with internal finance leadership, external auditors, and third-party administrators to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting across the firm’s investment funds and management entities.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and review of quarterly and annual financial statements for investment funds and management companies
- Support the financial reporting process in accordance with U.S. GAAP and investment company reporting standards
- Coordinate with external fund administrators to review NAV packages, capital activity, and investor allocations
- Assist with the annual audit process, working closely with external auditors and internal stakeholders
- Prepare supporting schedules and analysis for financial statement disclosures
- Participate in regulatory reporting and compliance requirements as needed
- Assist with internal reporting and ad hoc financial analysis for senior leadership
- Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes and internal controls
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 1–3 years of experience in public accounting, ideally with exposure to financial services, investment funds, or asset management clients
- CPA or CPA-track strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles
- High attention to detail and strong analytical skills
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
