We are seeking a business-oriented Python Developer to join the internal technology team supporting Risk and Middle Office functions across the firm. This role sits at the intersection of technology and business, working closely with portfolio managers, risk teams, and operations to build tools, automate processes, and generate analytics that support trading and investment decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain Python-based tools and applications supporting Risk and Middle Office technology platforms, including new features, enhancements, and bug fixes.
- Build analytics and reporting solutions to evaluate trading performance, risk exposure, and profitability metrics.
- Conduct data analysis using Snowflake to generate insights for portfolio managers, risk teams, and operational stakeholders.
- Develop automation solutions to improve operational efficiency across trading, risk monitoring, and middle/back office workflows.
- Maintain and enhance existing applications and scripts supporting risk monitoring, trading operations, and portfolio management processes.
- Provide support for existing C# desktop applications, including debugging, troubleshooting, and minor enhancements.
- Participate in the modernization of legacy systems, gradually migrating selected C# components to Python where appropriate.
- Build and maintain system integrations and data pipelines between internal platforms and external financial systems.
- Investigate and resolve production issues, data discrepancies, and system performance problems across the risk technology ecosystem.
- Work closely with portfolio managers, risk teams, and operations to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Implement testing, deployment, and CI/CD best practices to ensure reliability and scalability of internal applications.
- Collaborate with internal technology and data teams to maintain data integrity, platform stability, and system scalability.
Requirements:
- Strong Python development experience, particularly in building internal tools, data analytics solutions, or financial applications
- Good understanding of C#, with the ability to maintain, debug, and enhance legacy applications
- Experience working with trading desks, risk teams, or middle/back office functions within financial institutions
- Strong data analysis and data engineering capabilities, including experience with SQL and modern data platforms such as Snowflake or similar data warehouses
- Solid understanding of system integration, data pipelines, and API-based architectures
- Experience building automation solutions to improve operational efficiency across trading, risk monitoring, or investment workflows
- Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills, with the ability to investigate complex issues across systems, data flows, and applications
- Ability to work closely with business stakeholders, translating business requirements into technical solutions
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
