This is a temporary position.
The Quality Engineering Manager will be responsible for defining, leading, and executing the quality engineering strategy for a multi‑year Loyalty Transformation Program. This program includes re‑platforming legacy capabilities, integrating Salesforce with cloud‑based microservices, and coordinating multiple dependent programs.
The role requires experience operating in complex enterprise environments, managing multiple test phases (functional, integration, regression, performance, near neighbor and end-to-end), and coordinating QA activities across shared environments and in‑flight programs.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Strategy & Governance
- Define and own the end‑to‑end Quality Engineering strategy for the Loyalty Transformation, aligned with phased releases and progressive activations.
- Establish quality standards, test approaches, and governance models across functional, integration, regression, performance, end-to-end and UAT testing.
- Define and enforce test entry/exit criteria, defect severity models, and quality gates in partnership with Release & Activation and Program Management.
Test Planning & Execution
- Lead the planning and execution of test cycles across multiple environments (DEV, INT, UAT, PERF, STAGE), ensuring alignment with release milestones.
- Coordinate integrated testing across Salesforce, Channels, APIs, microservices, data platforms, and downstream systems.
- Ensure adequate test coverage for complex scenarios including data migrations, loyalty accrual/redemption flows, and cross‑system transactions.
Automation & Tooling
- Drive a test automation‑first approach, including UI, API, and integration test automation aligned to CI/CD pipelines.
- Partner with DevSecOps teams to integrate automated tests into build and deployment workflows.
- Select, standardize, and govern QE tooling (e.g., test management, automation frameworks, defect tracking, reporting dashboards).
Environment & Data Coordination
- Collaborate closely with Release & Activation and Environment Management teams to plan environment usage, data refreshes, and test sequencing.
- Ensure test data availability, data masking compliance, and synchronization across integrated systems.
- Support activation rehearsals, cutover testing, and post‑deployment validation activities.
Defect Management & Risk Transparency
- Oversee defect triage, prioritization, and resolution across multiple teams and vendors.
- Provide transparent reporting on quality status, defect trends, and release risks to program leadership.
- Proactively identify quality risks related to scope changes, environment constraints, or cross‑program dependencies.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Lead and mentor QE leads and test teams across internal and vendor resources.
- Partner closely with Product Owners, Engineering Leads, Release & Activation, Business Readiness, and Operations teams.
- Align with other transformation programs to coordinate shared integration testing and avoid environment or schedule conflicts.
Technical Competencies
- Strong understanding of modern Quality Engineering practices, including shift‑left testing and automation‑first strategies.
- Experience testing Salesforce‑based solutions, including integrations, metadata‑driven deployments, and sandbox strategies.
- Working knowledge of APIs, microservices, event‑driven architectures, and messaging platforms (e.g., Kafka/Confluent).
- Experience with test automation frameworks for UI and API testing.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, build validation, and automated quality gates.
- Understanding of performance, scalability, and resilience testing in cloud environments.
- Ability to interpret logs, test results, and defect patterns to guide root‑cause analysis and remediation.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in Quality Engineering or QA leadership roles within large‑scale transformation programs.
- Proven experience managing quality across multi‑phase releases and complex enterprise ecosystems.
- Experience operating in hybrid delivery models (Agile, SAFe, or hybrid frameworks).
- Strong vendor coordination experience in outsourced or distributed delivery environments.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and executive‑level reporting skills.
Engagement Expectations
- Active participation in sprint ceremonies, release readiness forums, and cross‑program synchronization meetings.
- Regular reporting on quality metrics, risks, and readiness status.
- Availability during critical test cycles, cutover rehearsals, and production activation windows as required.
Success Measures
- High‑confidence releases supported by clear quality metrics and risk transparency.
- Reduced defect leakage into UAT and Production.
- Strong automation coverage aligned with CI/CD pipelines.
- Predictable, well‑coordinated test cycles across environments and dependent programs.
- Positive feedback from Product, Engineering, and Program leadership on qualit
