We're hiring our founding laboratory scientist at Zolexeon.
Here's the pitch: glycosylation is arguably the most information-rich post-translational modification in human biology — and diagnostics has barely touched it. We're changing that.
Zolexeon is building a clinical glycoproteomics platform (GlycoTyper™) that combines next-gen MALDI-MS, liquid-handling automation, and machine learning to decode disease-specific glycan signatures directly from patient specimens. Our pipeline targets cancer and autoimmune diagnostics, and our pilot data is strong.
We need a PhD-level mass spectrometrist with strong (glyco-)protein biochemistry background to lead our bench operations from day one. This is a founding scientific role — not a staff position where someone hands you an SOP. You'll build the workflows, shape the platform, and own the science.
What we're looking for:
→ PhD + 3 yrs hands-on MALDI or high-res MS experience
→ Strong sample prep and glycoprotein biochemistry skills
→ Comfort with automation and data processing (Python/R)
→ The mindset to thrive in early-stage ambiguity
What you get:
→ Founding role with meaningful equity
→ Next-gen MALDI instrumentation, fully equipped BSL-2 lab in Billerica, MA
→ Freedom to publish and present your work
→ A career trajectory that grows as the company scales
If you're a mass spectrometrist who's ready to stop servicing other people's projects and start driving the science that defines a company — reach out.

We especially welcome "bent arrow" scientists whose career paths don't follow a single straight line.
