Position: Full Stack Software Engineer - IoT / Autonomy / Defense / Robotics
$140,000 - $200,000 Base + Up to 0.8% Equity
The Company
- The company is developing the next generation of autonomous robotic systems for national security and critical asset defense.
- Their mission is to disrupt traditional operations by creating scalable fleets of low-cost, highly versatile unmanned systems.
- Operating as a highly selective, pre-Series A start-up, they exclusively hire the top 1% of engineering talent.
Why Join?
- Collaborate within a small, elite team of passionate builders who love shipping real-world products.
- Tackle complex, computationally intensive challenges working with low-cost hardware and cloud orchestration constraints.
- Secure highly meaningful equity upside at the ground floor of an actively growing, well-funded defense company.
- Thrive in a fully on-site, highly interactive environment where software directly interfaces with fielded autonomous hardware.
The Role
A technical, hands-on role where you will:
- Design the full-stack architecture powering the core control and command interfaces for autonomous fleets.
- Build and scale robust backend microservices utilizing Go, AWS Lambda, and Load Balancers.
- Develop highly intuitive, responsive front-end IoT dashboards using React.
- Implement real-time communication, live telemetry, and debugging tools via web sockets and connect
RPC/gRPC.
- Drive cloud infrastructure planning, automation scripts, and Kubernetes orchestration logic for efficient deployments.
- Contribute to and manage secure, scalable user-level authorization frameworks and data pipelines.
The Essential Requirements
- Proven experience designing real-time, IoT-driven systems, including live telemetry management and secure Web Socket integrations.
- 3+ years of production experience using Go, for engineering backend systems, APIs, and microservices.
- 3+ years of commercial experience using React for building responsive user interfaces.
- Deep expertise in cloud infrastructure orchestration, specifically leveraging AWS Lambda and Kubernetes.
- A demonstrable "builder" DNA with a proven track record of shipping complex, real-time products under tight constraints.
- Full commitment to working 100% on-site, 5 days a week, at the Los Angeles facility.
- Preferable - Previous engineering experience within autonomous vehicles, robotics start-ups, or IoT telemetry platforms.
- Preferable - Hands-on knowledge of geospatial mapping tools like Map Box or Map Libre.
- Preferable - Practical experience integrating WebRTC and SRT streaming protocols for live video feeds.
What The Client is NOT Looking For
- Pure researchers or theoreticians who lack a proven track record of shipping production-ready systems.
- Engineers seeking remote or hybrid flexibility; this role requires 100% on-site collaboration.
- Developers accustomed to slow-moving corporate structures or unlimited compute budgets - we need scrappy, resource-efficient builders.
- Candidates relying solely on past brand-name employers rather than deep, hands-on technical execution.
