Job Title: Electrical Designer

Job Description

As an Electrical Engineer, you will collaborate closely with Project Managers to develop engineering system concepts that prioritize energy efficiency, sustainability, and long-term reliability. You will apply your expertise to analyze existing building systems, identify opportunities for improvement, and craft well-supported engineering solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Project Managers to develop energy-efficient and sustainable engineering system concepts.
  • Analyze existing building systems and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Craft well-supported engineering solutions.
  • Review drawings and provide clear, constructive feedback to project teams.
  • Oversee the work of staff involved in preparing design documents.
  • Write or edit technical specifications.
  • Coordinate with external consultants and multidisciplinary partners.

Essential Skills

  • 6+ years of electrical system design experience for retail buildings.
  • Advanced knowledge in Revit and AutoCad.
  • Strong knowledge of NEC codes.
  • Proficiency in lighting, power distribution, and system design architecture.
  • Proven record of technical competence in areas of electrical system design.
  • Ability to prepare studies and reports.
  • Ability to prepare drawings, details, specifications, and contract documents for contractors.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • BS Degree in Electrical Engineering (consideration for Drafting/Design AA degrees with experience in Design Engineering).
  • Experience in MEP Revit, AutoCad, and Bluebeam.

Work Environment

The company supports work in various sectors including Commercial, Education, Government, Healthcare, and Retail. There are flexible work schedules with options for work from home days. The role may involve days in the office to collaborate with the team if candidates live near a field office. The company is open to fully remote candidates who can work independently and deliver quality work on time and on budget.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Seattle, WA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.50 - $52.90/hr.
