ABOUT THE COMPANY

Our client is a fast-growing consumer wellness brand headquartered in London, operating across direct-to-consumer and retail channels in the UK, Ireland, and a small number of European markets. They have built a loyal customer base, strong brand equity, and a product range that has outperformed in a difficult consumer environment. The founder-CEO is now stepping back from day-to-day operations to focus on longer-term strategy and international expansion, and the General Manager will take over full operational accountability for the UK and Ireland business.

THE ROLE

As General Manager, you will own the UK and Ireland P&L and take full accountability for the commercial, operational, and organisational performance of the business. You will lead a team across commercial, marketing, operations, and customer experience, and you will be expected to both maintain what is working well and build what the business needs next. This is a high-trust, high-accountability role for a leader who is ready to run a business.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Own the UK and Ireland P&L, with full accountability for revenue, margin, cost management, and profitability outcomes across DTC and retail channels.
  • Lead the commercial strategy across direct-to-consumer, retail partnerships, and wholesale channels, ensuring the brand grows in a way that is sustainable and margin-accretive.
  • Build, lead, and develop a cross-functional team spanning commercial, marketing, operations, and customer experience, setting high standards and a clear performance culture.
  • Partner with the CEO on strategic planning, investor reporting, and longer-term brand and geographic development.
  • Oversee operational performance, including supply chain, fulfilment, and customer service, ensuring quality and efficiency standards are met as the business scales.
  • Drive customer acquisition and retention strategies in partnership with the marketing team, maintaining a strong connection to what the brand's customers value.
  • Identify and evaluate growth opportunities, including new product lines, channel expansion, and partnership development.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • 8+ years of experience in general management, strategy, or operations, with a background that includes management consulting and direct experience in consumer, retail, or branded goods.
  • Proven P&L ownership experience at a business of meaningful scale, with a track record of revenue growth and operational improvement.
  • Strong commercial instincts; able to identify growth levers and make resource allocation decisions with confidence.
  • Excellent people leadership skills; experienced in building and managing cross-functional teams with a genuine commitment to developing those around them.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and the resilience to operate effectively in a fast-moving, founder-built business environment.
  • Data-driven approach to decision-making, with the ability to move quickly from insight to action.
  • Passion for the wellness or consumer category and an understanding of what drives brand loyalty in a competitive market.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

  • Base salary of £120,000 - £155,000, determined based on experience and scope.
  • Meaningful equity participation commensurate with the accountability and strategic importance of the role.
  • Additional benefits, including private health cover, pension, and leave entitlement, are detailed as part of the full offer package.
