About the Role

This role will be responsible for sourcing the capital equipment and fixtures used in Sesame’s manufacturing. The person will manage Sesame's direct equipment suppliers while simultaneously benchmarking and negotiating with contract manufacturers to ensure they are utilizing the highest quality and most cost-effective equipment for our production lines.

This role is critical for building the supply chain for new products and standing up new factory locations. You will partner closely with Test Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Operations to align equipment capabilities with product design intent and manufacturing requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify, qualify, and manage capital equipment suppliers with the technical capabilities and manufacturing capacity to support manufacturing and testing across multiple regions in Asia.
  • Partner with Engineering, Advanced Manufacturing, and contract manufacturers to ensure equipment meets lead times, cost targets, and manufacturability.
  • Develop and qualify second-source strategies once engineering approves initial machine sets, reducing supply risk, improving leverage, and creating scalable dual-source capacity for future ramps.
  • Lead after-sales commercial strategy for equipment support, including onsite-support, service coverage, and maintenance plans, to optimize uptime, lifecycle cost, and long-term operational resilience across manufacturing sites.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in supply chain, sourcing, or commodity management within consumer electronics, hardware technology, or related industries.
  • Experience managing suppliers for capital equipment.
  • Experience partnering with Mechanical Engineering, Advanced Manufacturing and Test Engineering teams during product development.
  • Proven experience supporting new product introduction (NPI) and managing supplier readiness across EVT, DVT, PVT builds through production.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead supplier negotiations and manage commercial agreements, including warranties, onsite support, and machine times.
  • Experience working with global suppliers and contract manufacturers supporting consumer hardware production.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication skills.
