This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.

As a Level 2 Engineer specializing in Ground Systems Development, you will play a crucial role in advancing space exploration. This is an outstanding opportunity to work on innovative fluid and mechanical systems for ground test operations, ensuring every mission is completed flawlessly!

As part of a dynamic and dedicated team of Mechanical and Fluid Engineers, you will play a crucial role in developing systems to test rocket engines and space flight vehicles. You will contribute significantly to all aspects of test stand design. Your responsibilities will include designing fluid and structural systems for test facilities, coordinating with suppliers, and overseeing the construction, installation, and commissioning of new test facilities.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Carry out in-depth technical evaluation of fluid and mechanical systems
  • Selectappropriate componentsbased on system requirements and specifications
  • Generate detailed engineering drawings, P&ID's,and 3D models using AutoCAD, PTC Creo,and other build tools
  • Participate in hazard reviews and safety assessments for propulsion test systems(HAZOP)
  • Assistin the development and operation of vacuum systems for propulsion testing
  • Support test operations for propulsion systems, including those using hydrazine, monomethyl hydrazine, and dinitrogen tetroxide
  • Document builds, test procedures, and technical reports
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure coordinated system performance

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field
  • 2+ years of experience in fluid systems, mechanical systems, or test operations
  • Experience with CAD software and engineering analysis tools
  • Basic understanding of fluid mechanics and structural principles
  • Understanding of engineering safety protocols, particularly for hazardous operations
  • Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and standards
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with AutoCAD, PTC Creo,and fluid/structural analysis software
  • Familiarity with propellant handling systems
  • Familiarity with industry standards including ASME B31.3, ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code (BPVC), IEST-STD-CC1246, State and Federal regulations, and other aerospace fluids related specifications.
  • Knowledge of vacuum systems build or operation
  • Experience supporting test operations
  • Understanding of hazardous material handling procedures
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new software tools

Compensation Range for:

WA applicants is $99,201.00 - $138,880.35
