We're seeking a Group Chief Technology Officer (CTO) / CAIO to provide strategic technical leadership across a diverse portfolio of software companies and make a significant impact in a fully remote role.

If you have recent experience to demonstrate you are capable of leading this next wave of AI-generated code, this could suit you,, but if your experience is purely leading legacy R&D teams where AI hasn't been a recent focus, this role probably isn't for you.

The Role

As Group CTO, you will provide strategic technical leadership and oversight across an expanding portfolio of software companies. You will act as a trusted advisor to portfolio company CTOs and tech leaders, leading key strategic projects and initiatives, including:

Strategic Audits and Development:

Conduct thorough technical audits and develop strategic roadmaps for technological advancement and efficiency.

Hands-on AI Leadership - using prompt engineering and tools like Bolt.New to deploy AI-generated apps, and driving portfolio companies forward into the next wave of AI generated code

Technology Integration and Due Diligence :

Lead due diligence and integration processes in M&A activities, evaluating technology, tech debt, new projects, and R&D team performance.

AI Initiatives :

Drive AI/ML projects tailored to subsidiaries’ needs, leveraging the company’s data and distribution networks. Participate in the equity “bounty” for successful AI project development, focusing on upselling AI solutions to existing customers.

Offshore Strategy :

Oversee the strategic use of offshore development resources to optimize capabilities and manage costs.

Foster a collaborative environment, leveraging offshore development opportunities and championing innovation, especially in AI/ML projects.

This role is remote, with a preference for candidates located in Canada, particularly Toronto or Montreal, or Eastern Time zone USA.

Essential Requirements

Experience as a CTO or senior technology leader, within a multi-company or portfolio environment.

Expertise with AI Implementation and AI App Deployment

Good knowledge of AI Prompt Engineering for GPTs

AI coding / development with Bolt.New or similar

A passion for AI outside work - could be coding AI apps in spare time, AI blogging, sharing AI code on GitHub, attending conferences etc.

Experience managing the technology environments at multiple companies concurrently.

Deep understanding of software development lifecycles, cloud computing, cybersecurity, and other relevant technology domains.

Strong experience in M&A due diligence and post-acquisition integration.

Proven track record of leading successful technology transformations and driving operational improvements.

Exceptional leadership, communication, and mentorship skills.

Financial acumen and experience managing technology budgets.

Entrepreneurial mindset and a passion for driving innovation.

A track record of successful project management and delivery.

Eastern time zone preferred due to concurrent work with EU and West Coast companies.

Experience with offshore development teams is highly desirable.
