Title: GSW - PSA Engineer - SCADA - EMS Platform Services

Role Overview
The PSA Engineer – SCADA will be responsible for ensuring real-time monitoring, control, and operational visibility of power system networks. This role focuses on the engineering, configuration, and support of SCADA/EMS platforms, with an emphasis on reliable telemetry, data acquisition, alarms, and communications infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in control room operations, IT/OT integration, and end‑to‑end SCADA system lifecycle management.
Key Responsibilities
- Engineer, configure, and maintain SCADA/EMS systems to support real-time grid operations.
- Manage telemetry acquisition, measurements, alarms, and control points across substations and field devices.
- Support control room operations, including real-time troubleshooting, system health monitoring, and operational issue resolution.
- Perform SCADA database engineering, point mapping, and communication model updates.
- Integrate field IEDs using IEC 61850, DNP3, and other substation communication protocols.
- Execute system integration, FAT/SAT testing, commissioning, and validation of real-time systems.
- Collaborate with OT, networking, and cybersecurity teams for secure and reliable system performance.
- Work with GE Reliance or GE e‑terra for SCADA/EMS configuration, testing, and operational support.
- Prepare and maintain engineering documentation, configuration records, system diagrams, and operational procedures.
Required Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of SCADA/EMS architecture, real-time data acquisition, and operational monitoring systems.
- Experience with IEC 61850, DNP3, and other utility communication protocols.
- Hands-on expertise with GE Reliance or GE e‑terra SCADA/EMS platforms.
- Understanding of control center operations, grid monitoring, alarms management, and operator workflows.
- Familiarity with communications networks, RTUs, IEDs, telemetry circuits, and system interfaces.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical abilities for real-time issues.
- Ability to work in fast‑paced, real-time operational environments.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and teamwork skills.
Education Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering (required)
Focus in Power Systems, Control Systems, or related fields is preferred.
Primary Expertise
- End‑to‑end SCADA system integration, real-time operational support, and control room readiness.
- Hands-on testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of SCADA/EMS installations.
Key Differentiator
- Strong blend of real-time operations experience and IT/OT control systems knowledge.
- Ability to bridge operational needs with technical SCADA/EMS engineering.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with substation automation, HMI design, and RTU/IED configuration.
