Job Description

Must-Haves:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Electronics, Computer, Systems, or related)
  • 10+ years of experience in hardware, embedded systems, or multi-disciplinary engineering
  • Strong background in electronic system architecture, schematic design, and component selection
  • Hands-on experience driving technical innovation initiatives (not purely process-focused)
  • Systems-level understanding across electronics, firmware, and hardware/software integration
  • Ability to evaluate emerging technologies and translate them into scalable engineering solutions
  • Proven ability to lead through influence in highly technical, global engineering environments
  • Strong technical communication skills with engineers and senior leadership

Plusses:

  • Experience with IoT-enabled or cloud-connected hardware platforms
  • Exposure to control systems, real-time embedded systems, or firmware-heavy products
  • Background supporting payment systems, POS hardware, or regulated transactional devices
  • Familiarity with multimedia interfaces (HMI, displays, user-facing hardware)
  • Experience with advanced prototyping, simulation, or hardware automation tools
  • Knowledge of engineering excellence methodologies (DFX, DFSS, Systems Thinking, Agile for HW)
  • Experience leading design sprints, hackathons, or technical innovation workshops

Day-to-Day:

  • Serve as the technical innovation lead for a global hardware engineering organization
  • Architect, design, and review complex electronic and embedded hardware systems
  • Identify and champion emerging technologies across IoT, cloud connectivity, and control systems
  • Drive hands-on prototyping, experimentation, and validation of new technical concepts
  • Partner closely with electrical, firmware, systems, and test engineering teams
  • Translate technology trends into production-ready engineering capabilities
  • Lead technical design reviews, workshops, and innovation forums
  • Define and track technical KPIs tied to adoption, performance, and engineering velocity
  • Advise engineering leadership on long-term technology and platform investments
