Head of Data

Are you a strategic data leader ready to make a real impact in education? We’re looking for a Head of Data to shape how data drives decision-making, innovation, and outcomes across a growing multi academy trust.

Our client

WeDoData are working with a forward-thinking multi-academy trust consisting of over 40 schools (primary and secondary) who are committed to delivering exceptional education and improving life chances for all pupils. They have schools throughout London, Surrey and Berkshire and are focused on utilising data wherever possible to drive school and pupil performance.

The Role

As Head of Data, you will provide strategic leadership across data, analytics, and BI.

Working closely with senior leaders, including the Chief Digital & Information Officer, you will ensure data is transformed into meaningful, actionable insight across all levels of the organisation. You will also be responsible for the management of the Trust MIS Officer and Data Analyst.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and lead a trust-wide data strategy
• Streamline processes by developing and implementing automation
• Oversee data governance, architecture, and quality
• Develop advanced analytics capabilities (descriptive, predictive, and beyond)
• Deliver impactful dashboards, KPIs, and reporting frameworks
• Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for stakeholders
• Champion data literacy across schools and central teams
• Drive innovation, including emerging technologies such as AI and advanced analytics

Essential Requirements

• Proven experience in a senior data or analytics leadership role, with line management responsibilities
• Experience working in a data focussed role in the education sector
• Strong expertise in:
• Microsoft Fabric
• Power BI
• Power Automate
• Experience designing and implementing data strategies
• Strong communication skills with the ability to translate data into insight
