ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a strategic, hands-on Head of Talent Acquisition to build and scale the talent function at Valerie Health. You will partner directly with the founders and leadership team to shape the company through hiring, org design, talent strategy, and recruiting operations.

You will personally lead searches for critical leadership, technical, and strategic hires while also building the systems, processes, and team needed to scale recruiting across the company. This role combines high-touch executive and strategic recruiting with operational leadership and talent strategy.

This is not a traditional recruiting role. You will help define how Valerie attracts talent, raises the hiring bar, develops managers, and scales culture through a period of hypergrowth.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Executive & Strategic Hiring: You will personally own and close critical leadership, technical, and strategic hires across the company. You will operate as a high-judgment talent partner to founders and hiring managers, helping define role scopes, calibrate talent bars, and drive hiring decisions.
  • Talent Strategy: You will partner with leadership on org design, leveling, compensation benchmarking, hiring plans, and workforce strategy as the company scales.
  • Recruiting Leadership: You will oversee and scale the recruiting function, including recruiting operations, external recruiting partners, and high-volume hiring across delivery and operations teams. You will coach recruiters and hiring managers to improve hiring quality, calibration, and consistency.
  • Talent Branding: You will help shape Valerie’s talent brand and position the company as a destination for ambitious operators, engineers, and leaders. You will drive outbound sourcing, referrals, and executive-level candidate engagement.
  • Recruiting Operations: You will build scalable recruiting infrastructure, including ATS workflows, interview design, funnel analytics, calibration processes, and reporting systems that enable disciplined hiring at scale.
  • Candidate Experience: You will define what it feels like to interview at Valerie Health. Every candidate interaction should reflect a high-talent-density, mission-driven, high-performance culture.

WHO YOU ARE

  • Experience: You have 4-8+ years of recruiting and talent experience across high-growth startups, talent-dense technology companies, and/or top-tier search firms. You have experience hiring senior technical and business leaders and ideally have built or scaled recruiting functions from an early stage.
  • Strategic Operator: You operate comfortably at both the strategic and execution levels. You can shape hiring strategy while building scalable processes, strong funnel visibility, and operational rigor across recruiting. Experience with Ashby is a strong plus.
  • Talent Bar: You have strong calibration and high standards. You understand how to identify slope, ownership, and long-term leadership potential, not just resume pedigree.
  • Communication: You are an exceptional communicator who can represent Valerie credibly with senior candidates, align leadership teams internally, and articulate compelling opportunities in a clear and thoughtful way.
  • Urgency & Ownership: You move quickly, operate with intensity, and take ownership end-to-end. You proactively identify gaps, solve problems, and drive outcomes without waiting for direction.
  • Bonus: Experience hiring directly across both technical and non-technical functions, including GTM, Operations, G&A, and leadership roles.
