New and Interesting Projects, Small team environment, hands-on-technical C-level management.

The Health-Medical Insurance Claims Data Focused Data Scientist will be an integral member of a small data engineering team based in NYC, working onsite to leverage health insurance and medical claims data. This role involves routine and ad hoc analytics, data mining, and reporting to support cross-departmental projects and initiatives. The ideal candidate will proficiently handle diverse data sources and employ advanced analytical techniques to generate actionable insights and reliable predictive models.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain data models focused on health insurance claims datasets
• Create statistical reports and predictive analytics to support decision-making
• Perform comprehensive data cleaning, preparation, and validation
• Design and deliver clear data visualizations and presentations for stakeholders
• Validate analytic models and document methodologies and findings
• Integrate datasets using SQL, Python, and AWS database technologies
• Scope and frame data problems to identify data sourcing and mining strategies
• Collaborate regularly with internal and external stakeholders across departments

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in health-medical insurance claims data analytics
• Master’s degree
• Proficiency in Python, R, and SQL programming
• Strong domain knowledge of health insurance and medical claims data
• Experience working with AWS databases, including Aroura and Redis
• Familiarity with PostgreSQL and AWS Python frameworks for data manipulation
