Title: Healthcare Data Engineer / AnalystLocation: Chula Vista, CA - 100% OnsiteCompensation: $115,000-$145,000 (based on experience) Company OverviewA privately held, family-owned healthcare insurance and risk services organization in its high growth stage is looking to bring on a Healthcare Data Engineer / Analyst. This person would take ownership of healthcare claims data, risk analytics, and SQL-driven reporting across the organization. This role is highly hands-on and requires day‑to‑day work in SQL Server, managing large medical claims datasets, and directly supporting underwriting, risk, and leadership teams. Key ResponsibilitiesHands‑On SQL Server & Data ManagementWrite, optimize, and maintain complex T‑SQL queries across very large healthcare datasets (millions of rows)Manage large medical claims, eligibility, and provider datasetsBuild and maintain stored procedures, indexes, and performance tuning strategiesOwn ETL processes and recurring data workflows within an in‑house data warehouse Risk Analytics & Insurance SupportPerform hands-on risk analysis supporting underwriting and reinsurance decisionsProduce large claim, stop‑loss, and loss development reportingBuild incurred vs. paid analyses, trend reporting, and utilization insights Reporting & AutomationProduce critical operational and analytical reports across multiple lines of businessStandardize monthly reporting packagesWork directly with stakeholders across the organization to translate needs into data solutions Required Qualifications5-10 years of experience working with healthcare dataAdvanced, hands-on SQL Server / T‑SQL expertise (heavy daily SQL use)Extensive experience working with large medical claims and eligibility datasetsBackground building ETL pipelines and recurring reporting workflowsComfortable writing complex joins across very large datasets BenefitsFull benefits package included If you meet the qualifications for this role, please apply now!
