Job Summary

We are seeking a Healthcare Portfolio Manager to join BHI’s growing Healthcare platform (focused on Skilled Nursing & Senior Housing)—one of the Bank’s core strategic priorities. This is an exciting opportunity for an early-career professional who is eager to learn, build technical expertise, and gain hands-on experience within a dynamic and fast-paced business.

This role is ideal for someone who is intellectually curious, detail-oriented, and motivated to grow within commercial banking. You will work closely with experienced Team Leaders and Senior Relationship Managers, supporting the management of a diverse portfolio of structured Healthcare credits while developing a strong foundation in credit analysis, portfolio management, and transaction execution.

This position offers meaningful exposure to complex transactions and the opportunity to learn alongside seasoned professionals while contributing to the continued growth of the Healthcare platform.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Portfolio Monitoring & Support:

  • Assist in the ongoing monitoring of loan requirements and client deliverables to help ensure compliance with loan agreements
  • Support the Healthcare Team and Credit Division in preparing annual reviews, modifications, extensions, and renewals through thoughtful financial analysis and documentation
  • Help manage routine portfolio monitoring tasks, including tracking maturities, past dues, reporting dashboards, and covenant compliance

Credit & Risk Analysis:

  • Support the identification and escalation of potential portfolio risks or areas of concern
  • Assist with the preparation of annual reviews and interim credit analyses in accordance with bank policy and regulatory guidelines
  • Participate in risk rating reviews and portfolio updates under senior team guidance

Transaction & Execution Support:

  • Assist with post-approval processes to help move transactions from credit approval through closing, including modifications, extensions, and renewals
  • Coordinate with Relationship Managers, Credit, Legal, Operations, borrowers, attorneys, and third-party consultants to support timely and organized execution

Governance & Compliance:

  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure adherence to internal policies and procedures
  • Support audit and regulatory review processes as needed

Requirements

Knowledge:

  • Strong quantitative/analytical skills including underwriting, portfolio management, writing and attention to detail
  • Strong work ethic, initiative, ownership/accountability and follow-through on responsibilities and assignments
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) at all levels throughout the Bank, as well as borrowers, participating lenders and third-party vendors
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of all functional areas that comprise Healthcare finance and Healthcare property types is a plus
  • Maintain current knowledge of BOM, policy guidelines and bank compliance requirements (BSA/AML/OFAC and other regulations) and participate in training and policy initiatives as required

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency with MS Office products, Internet, and ability to research property status (taxes, violations, title, etc.)

Experience Required/Preferred:

  • 1–4 years of relevant underwriting or portfolio management experience in a bank lending environment is a plus

Education Required/Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a concentration in Finance/Accounting/Economics. MBA desirable
