The HR Operations Specialist is responsible for ensuring smooth and compliant HR operations within the assigned region. You’ll manage the day-to-day execution of HR processes — from onboarding to offboarding — while partnering with global HR, payroll, finance, and business teams to provide a consistent and high-quality employee experience.

This role bridges global HR strategy with regional execution, ensuring that local compliance, culture, and employee needs are reflected in our people operations.

This is a temporary maternity replacement for approximately 2 years, starting mid to end of July 2026.

The Role

What type of work will you be doing:

Regional HR Administration & Systems

  • Maintain accurate employee data in the HRIS for Bulgaria and other assigned countries.
  • Process employee lifecycle transactions (hires, transfers, terminations, promotions, etc.) in compliance with Bulgarian labor regulations.
  • Generate and validate reports for compliance, headcount, and analytics.
  • Support HR system upgrades and integrations in partnership with global HR Tech

Employee Lifecycle Support

  • Coordinate onboarding and offboarding processes in alignment with global standards.
  • Partner with IT, Payroll, and Facilities to deliver a seamless employee experience.
  • Manage local employment documentation, contracts, and letters.
  • Prepare employment contracts and amendments in line with the Bulgarian Labour Code (Кодекс на труда)

Compliance & Policy Management

  • Ensure compliance with Bulgarian labor law, GDPR, and company HR policies.
  • Maintain local HR documentation and contribute to updates of employee handbooks.
  • Support internal and external audits, ensuring accurate record-keeping and timely responses

Payroll & Benefits Coordination

  • Partner with the external payroll provider and internal Finance team to verify salary data, statutory deductions, and benefits.
  • Oversee employee time tracking, leave management, and social/health insurance contributions.
  • Support local benefits administration and vendor coordination.
  • Help communicate and administer regional benefits programs

Employee Support & Communication

  • Serve as a first point of contact for employees and managers on HR operational questions.
  • Provide clear, timely guidance in both English and Bulgarian.
  • Escalate complex or policy-related matters to the Global HR Operations or HRBP team.
  • Support HR communications and regional rollouts of global initiatives (e.g., engagement surveys, policy changes).

Process Improvement

  • Identify process gaps and propose solutions to streamline HR operations.
  • Contribute to global HR process documentation and playbooks.
  • Participate in cross-regional projects to harmonize HR practices.

What You’ll Bring to Redis

Your experience and strengths:

Required:

  • 4-7 years of experience in HR operations or HR administration, ideally in a multinational environment.
  • Knowledge of regional employment legislation and HR compliance requirements.
  • Experience working with HRIS platforms (e.g., Workday, HiBob, BambooHR, or SAP SuccessFactors).
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills across cultures and levels.
  • Fluency in Bulgarian and English (both written and spoken).

Nice to have:

  • Experience in the tech or SaaS industry.
  • Exposure to multi-country payroll or benefits administration.
  • Experience in process improvement or HR project management.
