Role SummaryWe are looking for a mid-level to senior HVAC Controls Engineer to join a groing controls contractor in Greater Boston. This role has been created to increase delivery capacity due to a strong and expanding project pipeline. You will take ownership of controls projects from initial design through to commissioning and handover, with a clear pathway into future management responsibility.About the OrganisationThe role is with a well-established HVAC controls contractor with a genuine family feel. Role Responsibilities As a Controls Project Engineer, you will:Manage HVAC controls projects from cradle to grave, from early design through commissioning and close-outAct as the technical lead on assigned projects, coordinating controls scope, schedules and deliverablesWork primarily with Niagara-based Building Automation systemsSupport system architecture, points lists, sequences of operation and overall controls strategyOversee installation progress and provide technical guidance to field teams and subcontractorsLead commissioning activities and ensure systems are delivered to specificationInterface directly with clients, consultants and internal stakeholdersSupport project documentation, testing and handover processesContribute to continuous improvement as the team scales, with future leadership opportunitiesRequired Experience and SkillsExperience working in HVAC controls or Building Automation systemsBackground with a controls contractor or systems integratorHands-on experience delivering BAS projects end to endStrong understanding of HVAC systems and control strategiesComfortable managing multiple projects in parallelStrong communication skills and a collaborative working styleAbility to travel within the Greater Boston areaAdditional or Desirable ExperienceNiagara system experience (N4 or similar)Experience on education, commercial or healthcare projectsFamiliarity with CAD software is helpful but not requiredInterest in progressing into a project leadership or management role over timeSystems and TechnologiesNiagara-based Building Automation systemsStandard HVAC controls protocols and field devicesCAD tools (desirable, not essential)Location, Travel and Working PatternGreater Boston areaHybrid working modelLocal travel to project sites as requiredExtra Points to NoteLong-term career progression with a clear route into managementSupportive, close-knit team environmentExposure to a diverse and stable project pipeline
