Job Description

Sentant is looking for an experienced Hybrid Field IT Tech/Systems Engineer to join our engineering team and provide IT support and assistance to our Bay Area clients. The position will include travel in the San Francisco Bay Area to support customers on-site. The ability to work a flexible schedule and be on call on a rotating schedule is a plus.

Sentant is a modern and security-focused IT services firm. We work with venture-backed startups, venture capital firms, and other fast-growing businesses that have sophisticated technology and security needs. Sentant is not your typical Managed Service Provider (MSP). Our clients never have server rooms or legacy on-premise environments. We specialize in deploying lightweight and modern solutions for cutting edge-companies. By working with us, we hope to help you hone your IT and security skills in areas that are most sought after by Silicon Valley companies.

This is a full-time position in the San Francisco Bay Area including travel to work with clients on-site as well as remote work.

Responsibilities

Onsite

  • Be part of our field engineering team and help our clients solve their IT and security problems: network support, conference rooms, hardware support, troubleshooting issues, etc.
  • Perform site walkthroughs and installation evaluations with customers
  • Support projects in the field ensuring installation, upgrades, and maintenance is completed with accuracy and in a timely manner.
  • Provide detailed reports of project status and projections to management.
  • Assist clients with inventory and shipments.
  • Update and maintain technical documentation on all of our clients.

Remote

  • Remotely assist our clients with IT issues via Slack, email, and our ticketing platform with occasional video and phone calls.
  • Handle varying tickets and assist other members of Sentant team.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience doing IT onsite and remote support.
  • Experience in configuring, installing, troubleshooting and monitoring modern IT systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Valid Driver’s License and ability to commute to client locations in the SF Bay Area.
  • Ability to lift at least 50 lbs and experience with power tools, cabling and racking.
  • Friendly approach to client service with a can-do attitude.

Nice to have experience

  • Network physical installation experience with vendors such as Meraki/Ubiquiti/Juniper/Fortinet, experience configuring and troubleshooting both wired and wireless networks and general TCP/IP, VPN, DNS and related network management.
  • Conference rooms setups (using Zoom or Google Meet), installing and mounting TVs, speakers, cameras and microphones.
  • Mobile Device Management (MDM) and Endpoint Management platforms.

Pay: $70,000.00 per year
