Are you able to evaluate risk by understanding and talking to the business? Are you self-motivated and driven with vision, ability to drive multiple work streams with stringent deadlines?

We’re looking for someone like that who can provide operational risk support to IB, specifically to:

– act as a point of contact within the global IB BRM team based in Hong Kong, working in partnership with the business and our logistics & control partners across a broad spectrum of Operational Risk Management objectives.

– work on a number of operational risk change initiatives working closely with stakeholders across the Investment Bank COO and other functions globally

– monitor and challenge global functions on their delivery of the front to back control environment. Making recommendations on controls design and operating effectiveness

– review and analyze operational risk events and escalations for trends and track actions to resolution.

– provide proactive and constructive challenge in all aspects of the role, encouraging best practice and striving for consistency on a global basis

– support Operational Risk initiatives cross IB and provide input for the ongoing development of them

– provide support to Product-aligned COOs on various control improvement and remediation initiatives.

– provide transparent risk reporting to management, auditors and regulators

– identify, evaluate and mitigate risks, proactively formulate global solutions

– act as an SME on operational risk framework for the Investment Bank and other relevant key stakeholders

– contribute to design and documentation of control processes and procedures and identify, evaluate and mitigate risks for deficient controls

Your team

You’ll be working in the Business Risk Management Operational Risk team in Hong Kong. We are part of the IB's first line of defense. The team is responsible for embedding and maintaining the Group Non-Financial Risk framework to manage the IB Front Office risk environment and deliver related change projects. The Non-Financial Risk framework provides an integrated approach to managing and operating our business and allows us to consistently assess all areas of risk, identify and prioritize gaps, manage key risks and provide a basis for evidencing effective and compliant principles and practices.

Your expertise

– Knowledge of Global Markets products is essential.

– Proven experience in working in partnership with the business and/or Group Functions to monitor and challenge their delivery on the front to back control environment

– Ability to critically analyse and review remediation of issues (self-identified, audit and regulatory) to ensure holistic and sustainable resolution. Able to communicate findings in a precise and impactful manner.

– Make recommendations on controls design and operating effectiveness. Contribute to design and documentation of control processes and procedures and identify, evaluate and mitigate risks for deficient controls

– Act as an SME on operational risk framework for the Investment Bank - familiarity of RCSA, Risk Appetite, Key Process control review

– Have understanding of operational risk frameworks and internal control function, quality assurance or audit; reviewing, testing and resolution of identified non-financial risks.

– Ability to work with IB Stakeholders to ensure issues/risks/ control deficiencies are understood and remediation and action plans are implemented timely.

– Experience in providing guidance and help advise IB business in evidencing and articulating sustainable and holistic resolution of identified non-financial risk.

– Ability to review and analyse MI and clearly communicate to management key themes and issues identified that could have a direct impact to portfolio quality

– A strong work ethic and a demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities and deliver to deadline

– Proven problem solving and organizational skills - high attention to detail is critical

– Strong Microsoft excel, PowerPoint and word skills. Knowledge of Alteryx would be an advantage
